Artist Biography

Dennis Mercier is a self-taught, southern born and raised artist with a passion for color and expression. His diverse images create a style of great strength, color and vitality. Dennis started drawing at an early age, and as a teenager his talents were used in his employment to paint posters, design signs, and create graphic sketches. The Director of the Art Department at Coca-Cola, who was a business associate of his boss, was impressed with his talent and offered to send him to a Paris art school. Circumstances kept him from pursuing the opportunity, but Dennis never lost his love of painting. After a long career in business Dennis is finally putting all of his energy and talent into painting. Dennis Mercier’s paintings are in many collections and have been exhibited and sold in shows in Atlanta, Georgia, New York, the Greenville County Museum of Art, Greenville, SC, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts US Artists: American Fine Art Show, Philadelphia, PA, the Marietta/ Cobb Museum of Art, Marietta, GA and Knoke Fine Arts, Marietta, GA.
